The Fast 50

Of course, the talk of the town now is last week’s Fast 50 awards event, Austin Business Journal was honored and ranked the 50 fastest-growing companies in town. They spanned from tech to real estate but they all have something in common: They’re raking in the revenue and growing faster than most companies can dream. Congratulations to the winner in the small-company category, Phunware Inc., and large-company-category winner Invodo Inc. — both of which are promising to change the way we use the Web. Click here for more on the Fast 50.

Best Places to Work

As much of an honor it is to be among the Fast 50, Craig Wax, Invodo’s CEO, said it’s an even greater honor to be among Austin’s Best Places to Work. Many of his peers agree, because employees’ confidential surveys make or break nominees’ chances for this annual contest. We published the 65 Best Places To Work list in June and it still gets thousands of Web page views every day. Walker Myers Insurance & Risk Management LLC took home the big trophy in the micro-company category, medical supplier JOSCO won in the small-company category, storage website Sparefoot was No. 1 in the medium-company category and Hyatt Regency Austin stole the show with its large-company-category honor.
